The paintings by the younger members of the Brandywine River School Howard Pyle heritage are excellent examples of 1930's Regionalist painting, representing Delaware - its students, industries, and history. The Shakespeare frieze is certainly appropriate to its place over a theatre and is painted by known artists of the Delaware Valley.
