System Configuration
All systems are normally configured to access the Internet using your school's network settings; however, these systems may be used as stand-alone machines for individual and small group projects if networking is not a viable option at the present time. Our staff will work with you to fully determine your needs and we will make every effort within our capabilities to provide systems that will meet those needs. Please read the NOTES below for important information.
The computer systems that we are currently fielding meet or exceed the following specifications (as of 10/08):

NOTES:
Ownership: All transferred systems are the property of the school, not the requesting individual.
System Limit: Requesters are limited to 50 systems per request. However, once a request is filled, another request may be submitted.
District Support: Par-Tech must coordinate computer requests with your district's Information Technology Manager. In some cases, we will not be able to support computer requests due to a district's configuration requirements or policies. We will notify you if any problems exist that will delay or void your request.
Scheduling Deliveries: An installation date must be scheduled within 30 days after notification that the systems are ready for delivery. If arrangements for delivery are not made within the 30-day period, your request will be voided and the systems will be used to fill another request.
Other Software: Computers only come with a licensed operating system installed. Any additional software must be licensed by the school and proof of licensing must be submitted to Par-Tech before it can be installed by our technicians.
Laptop Computers: Laptops are limited to 2 per request. Once a request is filled, another request may be submitted. Teachers requesting laptops may experience long delays in receiving their systems as we rarely receive them during the year. Most laptops do not come with a CD-ROM Drive or a serviceable battery.
